wholeworldoutthere: (this smile is just for you)

Klaus sent the message, but then he stopped worrying about it, because even if she didn't come over tonight, she would tomorrow, or the day after that, and he can be patient, when it's worth it, when it's worth so much more letting it happen at the pace it's supposed to. When she shows up, he's in the middle of drawing, and it's her earlier that day, when she was curled up in his bed, in his shirt. It's just a draft, and he's working on it as some piano plays, because since last night he's been in the mood for it. He isn't sure exactly what it is he's listening to, because the communicator is being moody again, but it's evocative and it sounds like a single piano and it's perfect to support what he's doing without influencing it.

When the door opens he looks over, from his spot on the chair at his desk, and he's not sure if he's going to see Caroline, Amy, or someone else, but it's Caroline, and she's almost defiant in the way she sits in another chair and makes herself comfortable. He's smiling, he doesn't want to help it, he's smiling and he tells her, genuinely, "I was hoping you would," before he stands to go to the door, and lock it so no one else can walk in, because now that he's thought about Amy he figures it would be just like her to decide to come on over at the worst possible moment.
